David Virshup, MD, is the inaugural Director of the Program in Cancer and Stem Cell Biology at the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School in Singapore, and a Professor of Pediatrics at Duke University in North Carolina, USA. Prior to moving to Singapore in 2007, he held the Willard Snow Hansen Presidential Chair in Cancer Research at the Huntsman Cancer Center at the University of Utah. Virshup received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed his clinical training in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and research training with Vann Bennett and Tom Kelly at Johns Hopkins. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Investigation, the Association of American Physicians, a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Asia Editor for the Journal of Clinical Investigation.
