About Us

As one of only five institutions in Singapore awarded a $172 million “Research Centre of Excellence” grant by the government, the Cancer Science Institute (CSI) of Singapore at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is dedicated to investigating the pathogenesis of cancer and creating innovative, safer methods of diagnosis and treatment. Established on 15 October 2008, over 200 scientists and researchers engage in life-saving work daily at the institute spearheaded by Professor Daniel G. Tenen, a world-leader in the field of transcriptional regulation, hematopoiesis, and cancer.

Our mission is to deliver research leading to better cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment, by recruiting outstanding talent and providing world-class training programs to nurture the next generation of research innovators.

Home to world-renowned scientists and awardees of Singapore’s prestigious talent development program, the STaR Investigators, CSI Singapore endeavors to revolutionize the landscape of biomedical research and position Singapore as a global leader.
