Marking the beginning of a new year ahead, Prof Daniel Tenen gave an annual State of the Institute address to all staff on 28 February 2014, at the Centre of Translational Medicine in NUS.
Special invited guests included young author Rachelle Toh, who has previously pledged a portion of her book’s proceeds to advancing research at CSI , and her family. Visiting the Institute for the first time, they were given a broad overview of the work done here and a tour of the laboratories following a reception where Rachelle met CSI Principal Investigators and faculty.
A cheque from the book’s sales was presented to Prof Tenen that evening.
Highlights from the speech include details on incoming Principal Investigator and Special Fellow recruitment, outreach activities, updates on research milestones in the past year and exciting new ventures such as the establishment of a Singapore Breast Cancer cell line bank at CSI, made possible through a donation from Philips.
