On 5 September 2016, CSI Singapore hosted a visit by Acting Minister for Education, Mr. Ong Ye Kung, who was accompanied by Ministry of Education Divisional Director Dr. Benjamin Koh, as well as other representatives from the Ministry of Education.
Mr. Ong was warmly welcomed by the Director of CSI Singapore, Professor Daniel Tenen, together with CEO of National Health University System (NUHS), Professor John Wong, and the Dean of Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Associate Professor Yeoh Khay Guan.
During the visit, Prof. Tenen presented an overview of CSI to Mr. Ong and led him on tour of the laboratory. During the tour, Mr. Ong was introduced to graduate student Darren Tan, Research Fellow Dr. Phyllis Chong and Principal Investigator Dr. Yvonne Tay, who each presented their research work to the Minister.
The lab tour was followed by a time of tea reception, where the Minister interacted and chatted with some graduate students and postdoctoral fellows of CSI.
The visit concluded with a group photo of Mr. Ong with the graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and members of our senior management.
